Born in Urbana Illinois and raised in Tallahassee Florida, Lieutenant Commander Snyder enlisted in the United States Navy upon completion of high school in 1981. While aboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65) as a Nuclear Propulsion Technician he earned appointment to the United States Naval Academy and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Naval Officer commission upon graduation in May of 1989. Lieutenant Commander Snyder completed aviation training at Training Squadron Two (VT-2) and Training Squadron 31 — awarded Naval Aviator’s “Wings of Gold” in 1991. He reported to Patrol Squadron Thirty (VP-30 Pro’s Nest) fleet training in the P-3C Orion. Subsequently, he completed operational tours with both Patrol Squadron 24 (Batmen) and Patrol Squadron Forty Five (Pelicans), deploying to Mediterranean, Icelandic, and Caribbean theaters. After an extensive four deployment sea tour he returned to VT-2 as a primary flight instructor in 1996. After two years instructing budding aviators he attended USAF Air University Command and Staff College in Montgomery Alabama, completing a Masters’ degree in Military Operational Art and Science. In 2002, he reported to his Department Head tour with Patrol Squadron One (VP-1 Screaming Eagles) and completed two more operational deployments to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf theaters in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. During this period he served as Operations and Maintenance Officer, a senior flight instructor and Patrol Plane Mission Commander. He led 285 personnel and managed aircraft maintenance on half a billion dollars worth of aircraft. LCDR Snyder finished his career at Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Eleven (CPRW-11) Jacksonville, Florida as instructor pilot, safety specialist, and operational risk management specialist until retired from active duty in August 2005. After the Navy he teamed up with Century 21 First Realty and headed their commercial division until 2008. He is currently working on CCIM designation and heads the commercial sector at Pro Players Realty, specializing in Commercial Investment Analysis, Multi- family acquisition and retail properties.
